Job Overview:
A prestigious law firm is seeking a skilled Commercial Real Estate Associate Attorney to join their team in Hartford, CT, with flexible opportunities for hybrid remote work. This role offers the chance to work closely with senior attorneys on a variety of commercial real estate transactions. Ideal candidates will possess experience in drafting and negotiating agreements, conducting due diligence, and overseeing all aspects of commercial real estate and leasing matters.

Duties:

  • Draft and negotiate purchase and sale agreements, letters of intent, deeds, and other relevant documents for commercial real estate transactions
  • Review due diligence materials, monitor contingencies, and manage title objections, survey and environmental reviews, closing documents, and wire transfers
  • Oversee and review title commitments and policies, UCC searches, judgment and lien searches, surveys, site plans, and leases
  • Supervise pre- and post-closing matters, including document preparation for recording and filing
  • Coordinate communication with clients, banks, attorneys, and other parties involved in the closing and filing processes
  • Manage the review, preparation, and management of commercial leasing documentation
  • Negotiate and review lease agreements, including common area maintenance clauses
  • Review agreements with developers, ensure approval of conditions required before disbursements, and manage developer payments
  • Draft, review, and modify initial documentation as needed and coordinate document execution

Requirements:

  • 4+ years of experience in commercial real estate and financing transactions
  • Experience or interest in land use and zoning transactions preferred
  • Admission to the Connecticut Bar (or ability to waive in) required
  • Admission to the New York and Massachusetts Bars (or ability to waive in) preferred
  • Juris Doctor from an ABA-accredited law school and an active member in good standing with the Bar
  • Strong commitment to providing exceptional client service
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks with professionalism and a client-focused approach
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Corporate experience is desirable
  • Military experience is welcomed

Education:

  • Juris Doctor from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Admission to the Connecticut Bar (required)
  • Admission to the New York and Massachusetts Bars (preferred)
