- Overview: Zurich North America is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Team Manager to lead and direct a team of technical Claims Professionals in Commercial General Liability claims. This role offers the opportunity to drive superior claims results, achieve customer satisfaction targets, and contribute to the overall success of the company.
- Responsibilities:
- Lead and direct a team of Claims Professionals in Commercial General Liability claims
- Drive superior claims results through direction, technical guidance, and tracking and reporting on key metrics
- Achieve customer satisfaction targets by building and maintaining relationships with internal colleagues, external customers, and brokers
- Analyze and resolve quality and customer service problems
- Review claims files, identify trends, and recommend improvements
- Monitor file allocations, resources, and other expenditures to ensure appropriateness
- Ensure compliance with all legal, regulatory, and internal control requirements
- Provide claims insights to assist business units in product development, customer/broker stewardship, and prospect meetings
- Motivate and lead a high-performance team through attracting, onboarding, recruiting, and retaining team members
- Communicate job expectations, monitor and evaluate performance, provide feedback, and facilitate employee development per company policies
- Maintain transparent communication through appropriate channels
- Create a workplace culture consistent with the company's mission, vision, and values
- Protect the company's reputation by keeping claims information confidential
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge through continuing education and participation in professional societies
- Contribute to team efforts and participate in projects as needed
- Basic Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor and 5+ years of experience in the Claims area, or Bachelor's degree and 6+ years of experience, or High School Diploma or Equivalent and 8+ years of experience
- Customer service experience
- Experience with Microsoft Office
- Experience collaborating across work groups
- Knowledge of insurance legal statutes and procedures
- Knowledge of the insurance industry, claims, and the insurance legal and regulatory environment
- Travel up to 20%
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Managing commercial general liability claims
- Experience managing construction
- People management experience
- Claims operations experience
- Knowledge and skill in claims handling
- Negotiation experience
- Experience in commercial general liability claims
- Analytical skills
- Compensation: Zurich North America offers a competitive compensation package, including short-term incentive bonuses and merit increases. The salary range for this position is $96, - $140,, with eligibility for a 15% short-term incentive bonus. Salaries may vary based on location, role, skill set, and experience.
