Job Overview:
A respected law firm is currently seeking a skilled and driven Toxic Tort Associate Attorney to join its team in Walnut Creek, CA. This opportunity allows for a unique chance to handle both local and national cases within the toxic tort and complex litigation space. The ideal candidate will have strong legal experience, particularly in toxic tort, environmental liability, or complex product liability, and will be capable of managing litigation independently while working closely with senior attorneys and clients.

Duties:

  • Manage a litigation caseload involving both local and national clients across California.
  • Conduct depositions and prepare witnesses for deposition and trial.
  • Review and analyze discovery requests and prepare responses and pleadings.
  • Prepare court filings and coordinate service of pleadings to opposing counsel.
  • Experience with e-filing procedures.
  • Provide trial preparation and support, including assisting senior attorneys during trial.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date time records for billable hours.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in complex litigation, toxic tort liability, or environmental liability.
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active membership in the State Bar of California.
  • Solid experience in motion practice, depositions, and litigation proceedings.
  • Proven ability to handle plaintiff and expert depositions.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while managing a caseload.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Excellent research and writing capabilities.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail in complex matters.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admitted to practice law in the state of California.

Skills:

  • Independent work ethic and ability to manage a high caseload.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong research, writing, and analytical abilities.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with litigation software and e-filing systems.
