Job Title: Senior Court Attorney JG - 26

Job Responsibilities:
- Research and analyze complex legal issues and questions.
- Supervise attorneys and support staff located in various courts within a county, judicial district, or department.
- Serve in a confidential capacity and work with substantial independence from supervision for judges or groups of judges in various courts including Supreme Court, County Court, Surrogate's Court, the Court of Claims, and Family Courts.
- Assigned to judges designated as Acting Justices of the Supreme Court for one full term or less.
- Work under the supervision of the Deputy Administrative Judge and/or the Chief Support Magistrate.
- Assigned to the Child Support Pilot in **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. and Bronx County Family Court.
- Assist with triaging intake cases in conjunction with the Support Magistrates.
- Provide procedural and legal information to unrepresented litigants concerning child support, paternity, and custody matters.
- Assist unrepresented litigants in utilizing the Do-It-Yourself and NYSCEF e-filing computer programs.
- Direct the public to the appropriate departments for assistance.
- Review court papers for legal sufficiency.
- Collect and report statistical information.
- Assist in monitoring the implementation of the pilot program.
- Research and analyze legal questions and issues.
- Review and prepare cases for trial, including conducting case conferences.
- Draft confidential opinions and Findings of Fact.
- Confer with lawyers on unusual or complex proceedings and review legal documents filed in connection with such proceedings.

Education and Experience Information:
- Admission to the New York State Bar.
- Two (2) years of relevant legal experience, which may include up to 18 months of pre-admission experience.
- Both experienced attorneys and recent law school graduates are encouraged to apply.

Salary Information:
- Base Salary: $99,490
- Additional Location Pay: $4,920
