A law firm is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Associate Patent Attorney to join its growing Intellectual Property Group in Grand Rapids, MI. The successful candidate will focus on drafting and prosecuting patent applications, conducting freedom-to-operate and landscape analysis, and supporting patentability, invalidity, and non-infringement opinions. This position also provides opportunities to contribute to IP-related litigation and transactional practices within the firm.

Duties:
Draft and prosecute patent applications related to clients' global patent and intellectual property strategies.
Conduct freedom-to-operate and landscape analysis.
Prepare patentability, invalidity, and non-infringement opinions.
Support intellectual property-related litigation and transactional practices as needed.
Collaborate with colleagues and clients to provide strategic IP guidance.
Requirements:
1 to 4 years of patent experience.
Technical background in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a related technical discipline.
Admission to the Michigan Bar and the . Patent Bar.
Excellent academic credentials.
Education:
Juris Doctor (.) from an accredited law school.
Certifications:
Active membership in the Michigan Bar (required).
