**Job Title:**

Tax Manager - Mutual Funds

**Job Responsibilities:**

As a Tax Manager within the Mutual Funds sector, you will be responsible for providing tax compliance and consulting services to Investment Management clients. Your key duties will include:

- Managing accounts on a day-to-day basis by delivering tax consulting services.
- Conducting high-level tax research and working on regulated investment company (RIC) tax work papers, financial statement provisions, and related tax disclosures.
- Preparing and reviewing federal and relevant state tax returns, excise calculations, and RIC compliance tests.
- Motivating, mentoring, supervising, and training both new and experienced-level Tax Consultants and Tax Seniors.
- Taking on lead client contact roles during engagements.
- Participating in sales and marketing activities.
- Attending required training sessions and facilitating at least one engagement-specific training and one national training per year.

**Education and Experience Information:**

- A Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or another business-related field is required.
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in providing tax planning services or preparing and reviewing client work papers and income tax returns.
- Demonstrated advanced understanding of Subchapter M, financial products, and book to tax adjustments common to regulated investment companies.
- Basic understanding of Subchapter K and investment partnership taxation.

**Certifications and Licensure:**

- Active accreditation in one of the following is required:
- Licensed CPA in the state of practice/primary office if eligible to sit for the CPA.
- Licensed Attorney.
- Enrolled Agent.

**Preferred Qualifications:**

- An advanced degree such as a Masters of Tax, JD, and/or LLM.
- Previous experience with a Big 4 or large CPA firm.
- Knowledge of fund accounting and general ledger accounting.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.

**Salary Information:**

The wage range for this role considers various factors such as skill sets, experience, training, licensure, certifications, and organizational needs. The disclosed salary range is $93,660 to $213,200. It is noted that it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range, as compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. Additionally, there may be eligibility to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, which depends on several factors, including individual and organizational performance.

**Additional Information:**

This position operates within a hybrid work model, requiring US Tax professionals to co-locate in person 2-3 days per week. The role may also require travel up to 25%, on average, based on the work performed and the clients and industries/sectors served.
