As an insurance defense attorney within our bodily injury (BI) unit, you will have the opportunity to be a part of our motor vehicle insurance defense litigation team. This role involves providing legal representation to Progressive insureds and/or to the Progressive Insurance Companies in all aspects of litigation. You will handle cases from beginning to end, prepare legal documents, and negotiate settlements. As a key member of our team, you will work closely with clients and claims partners to ensure positive outcomes.
This is a fully remote position for our Ft. Myers Office, covering venues in Collier, Lee, Charlotte, Desoto, Highlands, Hendry, Sarasota, and Manatee Counties.
Key Responsibilities:
- Represent Progressive insureds and/or the Progressive Insurance Companies before courts and arbitration panels
- Prepare legal pleadings, motions, statements, and trial briefs
- Negotiate settlements and work closely with clients and claims partners
- Analyze written discovery, depositions, and medical records
- Assess the value of claims to determine risk exposure
- Prepare timely reports on litigation
Must-Have Qualifications:
- Juris doctor degree or Master of Laws (LLM)
- Admitted to practice law in the state of Florida
- Minimum of 2 years general/auto litigation experience
Compensation:
- $128,700 - $143,000/year
- Annual cash incentive payment up to 40% of eligible earnings based on company performance
