A law firm seeks a highly skilled and driven Associate Attorney to join its dynamic team in Albuquerque, NM. This is a full-time, on-site position offering an excellent opportunity for an attorney passionate about personal injury law. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing a caseload, from initial client intake to case resolution, while working closely with a team of supportive professionals. Duties

  • Client Interaction: Conduct intake meetings with new clients, demonstrating empathy and collecting pertinent details regarding liability, damages, and insurance coverage.
  • Case Investigation: Lead the investigation phase, evaluating facts, and coordinating with necessary professionals, such as medical experts and investigators.
  • Negotiation and Settlement: Assess cases for full settlement value and negotiate aggressively with adjusters. Ensure clients are informed and involved throughout the negotiation process.
  • Litigation Preparation: Prepare pleadings, discovery documents, and other legal paperwork for lawsuits, arbitration, and mediation.
  • Case Management: Maintain detailed records, update client files, and ensure timely action on cases.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with senior attorneys and other legal professionals to strategize and resolve cases efficiently.

Requirements

  • Licensed to practice law in New Mexico or ability to obtain licensure through reciprocity or UBE score.
  • Willingness to relocate to Albuquerque, NM (relocation assistance provided).
  • Available to work full-time, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with additional hours as needed.
  • Strong negotiation skills with a focus on achieving favorable outcomes for clients.
  • Ability to manage a high-volume caseload and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • A strong commitment to providing compassionate and high-quality legal representation.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active bar membership in New Mexico or eligibility to obtain licensure.

Skills

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to analyze complex legal issues and build compelling arguments.
  • Proficiency in case management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Experience in personal injury law, with a focus on client-centered service.
