Job Title: Assistant General Counsel - Multifamily Real Estate

Job Responsibilities:
- Serve as legal counsel to manage risks associated with the company's multifamily business. This includes advising business teams on investigations of suspicious activity and fraud matters.
- Collaborate with compliance and other legal teams to provide advice on regulatory reporting regarding suspicious activity and fraud matters.
- Work with regulatory, government affairs, and communications teams to advise on responses to congressional, regulatory, and other inquiries concerning suspicious activity, fraud, and distressed asset matters.
- Provide legal advice on enforcement and asset resolution actions related to distressed assets by reviewing loan documents and the Multifamily Seller/Servicer Guide, advising on rights and remedies, and negotiating asset resolution arrangements such as workouts.
- Draft and negotiate documents related to the management and sale of Real Estate Owned (REO) properties.
- Create and deliver well-structured, complete, and concise correspondence, legal analyses, and documents for internal and external purposes.
- Collaborate with peers to ensure consistency in legal advice and negotiating positions.
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with business clients, lenders, and lenders' counsel.

Education and Experience Information:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree.
- Membership in good standing in a state Bar.
- Minimum of 5 years of legal experience in commercial and/or multifamily real estate finance transactions or litigation related to multifamily real estate finance transactions.
- Experience advising lenders regarding enforcement of rights and remedies related to such transactions and investigating suspicious activity and fraud matters.

Salary Information:
- The position offers an annualized market-based salary range of $170,000 - $254,000.
- It is eligible to participate in the annual incentive program.
- The final salary offered will generally fall within this range and is dependent on various factors including responsibilities of the position, experience, skill set, internal pay equity, and other relevant qualifications of the applicant.
