Job Title: Senior Claim Specialist - Cyber, Media, Crime

Job Responsibilities:
The Senior Claims Specialist is responsible for managing a range of claims, primarily focusing on Cyber, Media, and Crime claims. Key responsibilities include:

- Direct management of claims, including investigation, analysis, and evaluation of coverage liability for both first-party and third-party claims.
- Handling claims arising from policies issued to the company's Global Markets Cyber insureds.
- Reviewing claims to determine the nature of loss, coverage provided, and scope of the claim, guiding strategic direction regarding settlement or disposition of claims.
- Developing and maintaining relationships with internal and external partners as the lead contact within the claims department for assigned claims.
- Collaborating closely with the Specialty Complex Claims team regarding coverage disputes, including litigation and arbitration matters.
- Escalating coverage issues and recommending the assignment of outside coverage counsel where warranted.
- Formulating claims and litigation strategies, managing outside counsel, and controlling litigation costs.
- Fostering relationships and communicating extensively with senior executives, brokers, reinsurers, actuaries, underwriters, insureds, and auditors.
- Supporting underwriting inquiries and information requests regarding policy construction, reporting claim trends, data analysis, and risk assessments.
- Maintaining documentation of key business statistics and metrics.
- Leading and participating in presentations and discussions with underwriters and insureds on large losses and claim trends.
- Conducting claim audits, audit wrap-up meetings, and formal result reporting.
- Identifying liability and coverage trends and issues with both individual and portfolio impact, formulating processes and strategies for handling such claims, and ensuring consistent claims management across impacted underwriting segments and lines of business.
- Performing other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Information:
- 5-10+ years of claims management experience in Casualty and/or Specialty Lines Claims.
- Demonstrated leadership, organizational, and management skills, or experience practicing law alongside claims management.
- Proven ability to influence and collaborate at all organizational levels.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to drive results using legal and claims processes.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively manage conflicts and differing opinions.
- Experience handling casualty claims involving a wide variety of loss scenarios and presenting them to senior management.
- In-depth knowledge of claims, litigation, arbitration, and trial processes, with strong analytical, investigative, and negotiating skills.
- Bachelor’s degree required; JD is a plus.
- Technical knowledge and skills within the field, including complex coverage analysis and experience, confidence in coverage evaluation and reserving, excellent writing and editing skills, solid negotiation and settlement skills, supervisory experience, and familiarity with KPIs, data, and metrics.
- Valid licenses by state as required, with the ability to add states to certifications as needed.
- Travel associated with the role for team management, court proceedings, mediations, and settlements.
