Job Title: AVP, Auto/Transportation Commercial Claims
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide technical expertise and oversight to Claims Directors and Examiners, focusing on coverage issues and complex claims.
- Manage the identification and retention of top talent through Claims Directors; engage in training, employee development, and ensure performance accountabilities are consistently managed.
- Oversee the Trial Committee process, including reviewing cases set for trial, assisting in developing resolution strategies, and overseeing reporting processes to the Home Office.
- Attend mediations and trials for complex cases as needed.
- Review and edit timely and appropriate responses to Time Limit/Stowers/Policy Limit Demands.
- Conduct automobile/transportation liability reserve reviews of accounts.
- Oversee control activities such as BI Predictive Modeling System, review of Large Loss Snapshot, reserve reviews, and aging reviews.
- Conduct training sessions on current topics and facilitate partnership calls with internal and external stakeholders to discuss concerns with underwriting, actuarial, and Risk Engineering team members.
- Collaborate with other business unit leadership team members to ensure consistency in process and quality claim handling across business units.
- Identify opportunities for loss cost reduction and support strategies for improved financial outcomes.
- Address state and federal regulatory issues, including Medicare issues and state insurance department audits/complaints.
- Work on various claims-related projects as needed.
Education and Experience Information:
- Bachelor's degree required; JD is beneficial.
- Over 5 years of experience leading managers and multiple teams.
- At least 15 years of experience in the insurance industry, specifically handling automobile/transportation coverage issues.
- Multi-line experience as a front-line claims adjuster/supervisor and experience in a service/account management role.
- Detailed technical knowledge of automobile/transportation claims handling, with the ability to advise on complex injury and property damage cases.
- Experience in liability claims auditing.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Exceptional communication skills, including written, verbal, evaluating, influencing, negotiating, listening, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, analytical, organizational, and time management skills.
- Ability to drive and engage in strategic discussions across stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Excellent presentation skills and decision-making abilities in a team-based environment.
- Willingness and ability to travel 10-20%.
Salary Information:
- Base salary range: $166,900 - $180,000 per year.
- Position is incentive eligible.
- Total individual compensation, including base salary, short and long-term incentives, will consider factors like geographic location, scope, and responsibilities of the role, qualifications, talent availability, specialization, and business needs.
- The pay range may be modified in the future.
