Job Title: Tax Provision Manager - Tax Accounting & Risk Advisory Services (TARAS) - GCR
Job Responsibilities:
The Tax Provision Manager in the Tax Accounting and Risk Advisory Services (TARAS) practice is responsible for assisting companies with all aspects of their financial reporting for income taxes. This includes tax accounting, tax provision procedures, and controls design and testing. The manager will work closely with leaders to serve companies needing assistance with tax accounting for transactions or their ongoing tax provision process. Key responsibilities include providing clients with tax guidance and consulting related to tax accounting and planning, assisting companies with the preparation of the tax provision, reviewing tax provision processes to improve efficiency and accuracy, and assessing tax risk and control environments. The role involves managing tax accounting projects and consulting, enhancing processes and controls, and identifying, prioritizing, monitoring, and remediating key risks.
Education and Experience Information:
To qualify for the role, candidates must have a bachelor's degree in a related field, supported by significant tax or legal experience. An MST, MAcc, or JD/LLM is preferred. Candidates must have a valid US Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license or active state bar membership and a minimum of 5 years of work experience in professional services, a tax organization, law firm, or the IRS. A broad understanding and experience with federal income taxation are required. Strong analytical skills, written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal and problem-solving abilities, and attention to detail are essential. The ability to travel 50% or more and work on out-of-town projects is also required. Ideally, candidates will have strong ASC 740 and/or IAS 12 experience as well as experience in corporate tax planning and compliance.
Salary Information:
The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $102,600 to $188,000. In the New York City Metro Area, Washington State, and California (excluding Sacramento), the base salary range is $123,100 to $213,700. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through various factors, including education, experience, knowledge, skills, and geography. The Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time-off options.
