Law firm DLA Piper is seeking exceptional law students to join their 2026 summer program in their Intellectual Property and Technology group's Patent Litigation subgroup.
This is a full-time, hybrid position with opportunities for remote work.
The program is available in multiple locations, including New York, Austin, San Diego, San Francisco, Palo Alto, Washington DC, Chicago, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, and Boston.
Candidates must have an entrepreneurial mindset and a demonstrated interest in intellectual property.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment are essential.
The program offers in-depth training, pro bono opportunities, and a chance to work on trials, appeals, and related counseling.
Participants will receive support and feedback from a dedicated team and have the opportunity to build their network through social events.

Minimum Requirements:
- Must be a law student with four semesters of law school completed prior to the start of the program
- Must have a demonstrated interest in intellectual property and a background or education in science
- Must possess strong communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Must have an entrepreneurial mindset and be motivated to build legal skills and gain insight into client needs
- Must be able to effectively communicate with clients, lawyers, business professionals, and third parties
- Must be able to produce deliverables, answer phone calls, and reply to correspondence in an efficient and responsive manner
- Must be able to provide timely, accurate, and quality work product
- Must be able to successfully meet deadlines, expectations, and perform work duties as required
- Must be able to foster positive work relationships and comply with all firm policies and practices
- Must be able to engage in both physical and sedentary activity, such as working at a computer for extended periods of time, participating in digital/virtual conference calls, and attending meetings as needed
- Must be able to work under pressure and manage competing demands in a fast-paced environment
- Must be able to perform all other duties, tasks, or projects as assigned
