Salary Information:
Base Salary Range: $122, To $180,
Total Direct Compensation: Eligible for discretionary bonus and incentive compensation on an annual basis.

Role Value:
The AVP, Counsel role will provide legal support to the Hospitality Operational Team, with a focus on addressing the legal needs of hotels of various service levels. This role will involve drafting and negotiating contracts, analyzing legal issues, managing outside counsel, and assisting with deal processes. The ideal candidate will possess excellent business judgment and the ability to identify and communicate risk, as well as a creative problem-solving approach to maintain the reputation of Blackstone, Revantage, and BRE Hotels.
Responsibilities:
Deliver high quality and clear legal guidance as part of a transactionally focused team.
Partner with investment professionals to evaluate legal risks in transactions.
Train and develop portfolio company deal teams to be aware of legal issues.
Create and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance.
Negotiate, review, and execute business agreements and contracts.
Supervise outside counsel and manage costs.
Forge relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifications:
Juris Doctorate (JD) and actively licensed to practice in Texas.
Minimum of 5 years of relevant legal experience representing institutional clients.
Experience in commercial matters and hospitality law.
Current/previous experience working as in-house counsel at a Hospitality/Hotel company, or outside counsel experience focused on Hospitality/Hotel clients, is desired.
Strong initiative and resourcefulness.
Excellent communication skills.

Ability to adapt to changing business strategies.
Adept in navigating complex legal matters.
Experience with contract review and negotiation.
Advanced computer skills.
