Job Title: Tax Manager - Credits & Incentives

Job Responsibilities:
As a Tax Manager in the Credits & Incentives (C&I) sector, the primary responsibilities include identifying eligible federal C&I generating activities and managing the analysis and documentation of these opportunities. The role involves working in unfamiliar territory for many businesses that may lack the necessary personnel or resources to keep up with evolving legislation or complete the required paperwork for claims. Key responsibilities encompass:

- Managing federal credits and incentives opportunities, including Research and Development tax credit/deduction analyses, New Markets Tax Credit, Qualified Opportunity Zones, Sustainability and Renewable Energy tax credits, and other federal credit incentive service offerings.
- Delivering value to clients by identifying opportunities and advising on potential benefits and eligibility requirements.
- Maintaining and developing strong internal and client relationships.
- Leveraging extensive technical skills to solve complex issues within a given industry/service offering.
- Demonstrating sound judgment and instincts in evaluating complex scenarios involving various credits and incentives opportunities.
- Developing, mentoring, and motivating Consultants and Senior Consultants, providing counseling and career guidance.
- Identifying potential issues and proposing solutions to leadership, as well as implementing process improvement strategies.
- Ensuring accurate and timely delivery of engagement deliverables, which may include presentation decks, executive summaries, credit calculations, completed tax forms, supporting files, memoranda, and IRS audit responses.
- Monitoring legislative and regulatory tax developments and working with the team to present potential opportunities to assist clients.

Education and Experience Information:
The position requires:

- A Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, engineering, technology, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a related field.
- Proven knowledge of R&D tax incentives experience and/or experience with New Markets Tax Credits, Qualified Opportunity Zones, or Renewable Energy tax credits.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to work independently and manage multiple, competing priorities.
- One of the following active accreditations: Licensed CPA in state of practice/primary office if eligible to sit for the CPA; if not CPA eligible: Licensed attorney, Enrolled Agent, or PE (Professional Engineer).

Preferred qualifications include:

- An advanced degree such as MST, LLM, or JD.
- Experience with tax technical research (., CCH, Hein, Lexis, RIA, etc.).
- Experience with Federal or State and Local C&I.
- Experience with sustainability technologies or environmental sciences.
- Big 4 experience or large CPA or law firm experience.
- Demonstrated analytical and research skills, as well as effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven leadership skills demonstrating strong judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate and proactively develop internal and external working relationships.

Salary Information:
The wage range for this role considers various factors, including skill sets, experience, training, licensure, certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate for this position is between $89,180 and $203,060. At the company, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role, and compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case. Additionally, candidates may be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, which depends on various factors, including individual and organizational performance.
