Job Title: Counsel, Studio Technology

Job Responsibilities:
The Counsel, Studio Technology at the company is responsible for supporting the Studio Technology team by negotiating and drafting various technology-related agreements. These agreements cover a wide range of areas such as production and post-production, marketing technology, business and data platforms, content security, research and innovation, artificial intelligence, and immersive experiences. The role involves advising business partners on company policies and legal requirements. Key duties include:

- Drafting and negotiating legal documentation related to technology and operations, including software licenses, software-as-a-service agreements, professional services agreements, non-disclosure agreements, and software/system evaluation agreements.
- Collaborating with senior attorneys and internal stakeholders to support technology initiatives across production, post-production, marketing, and innovation.
- Interpreting existing policies and advising business partners on legal requirements.
- Solving complex problems and exercising judgment.

Education and Experience Information:
Candidates for the Counsel, Studio Technology position must possess a Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school and have strong academic credentials. Admission to the California State Bar Association is required, or candidates must demonstrate the willingness and qualification to be Registered In-House Counsel. The role requires 3-4 years of legal experience as an attorney working on technology agreements. Candidates should have an understanding of the technology and entertainment businesses, with a demonstrated capacity to stay current on emerging business trends and legal developments in technology, entertainment, and intellectual property law.

Required skills include strong drafting, negotiation, communication, and organizational abilities. Candidates must be capable of spotting legal issues and devising well-thought-out solutions. Strong interpersonal skills are necessary for building interdepartmental relationships at all levels and for communicating effectively with executives. The ability to think strategically and present arguments to higher-level attorneys and business partners is essential. Candidates should also demonstrate exceptional organizational, prioritization, and time management skills, with the capability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple, high-priority projects efficiently. Salary Information:
The hiring range for the Counsel, Studio Technology position in Burbank, CA is $142, to $183, per year. The base pay offered will consider internal equity and may vary depending on factors such as the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be included as part of the compensation package, in addition to a comprehensive range of medical, financial, and other benefits, depending on the level and position offered.
