Job Overview:
A distinguished law firm based in Houston, TX, is currently seeking an Associate Attorney with 4 to 7 years of experience in insurance coverage and commercial litigation. The role entails working on complex matters involving high-stakes coverage disputes, with a focus on professional liability, general liability, and D&O insurance. This opportunity is being offered through a legal recruitment firm assisting in strategic talent placement for this well-regarded litigation group.

Duties:

  • Handle complex litigation matters involving insurance and reinsurance coverage

  • Draft substantive legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and memoranda

  • Conduct and manage all phases of discovery, including interrogatories, document production, and discovery-related motion practice

  • Represent clients in court hearings, depositions, and other proceedings appropriate to the experience level

  • Engage in strategic case planning and independent matter management

  • Collaborate with colleagues on multi-faceted insurance disputes and contribute to group litigation strategy

  • Participate in client communications and support ongoing relationship management

  • Support business development efforts within the practice area

Requirements:

  • 4 to 7 years of relevant litigation experience, particularly in insurance-related matters

  • In-depth understanding of insurance coverage under policies such as E&O, GL, and D&O

  • Demonstrated ability to independently manage matters and work efficiently in a fast-paced legal environment

  • Prior exposure to high-value claims or complex commercial disputes preferred

  • A track record of courtroom experience and deposition handling is advantageous

  • Client-facing experience and initiative in business development will be considered a plus

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (.) from an accredited . law school

Certifications:

  • Active membership in the State Bar of Texas or eligibility to waive in
