Job Title:
Senior Manager, Federal Tax - Asset Management (Remote Option)
Job Responsibilities:
- Manage a portfolio of clients of varying sizes and scopes, acting as the primary contact for both internal and external clients.
- Direct teams of tax professionals and assistants on client projects.
- Understand and analyze . Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) rules affecting taxpayers.
- Manage risk and financial performance of engagements, including billing, collections, and budgeting for projects.
- Advise clients and be responsible for delivering high-quality tax services and advice.
- Assess tax impacts on clients, develop tax arguments to support conclusions, and suggest plans to clients.
Additional Responsibilities for Senior Manager:
- Participate in and contribute to market and business activities external to the company while providing direction and maintaining managerial responsibility for a team.
- Act as a coach and mentor to other tax professionals.
Education and Experience Information:
- Minimum of five years of recent corporate tax experience in the financial services industry, supporting alternative investments, such as investment partnerships and/or mutual fund tax experience. Previous experience as a tax manager with a public accounting firm is required.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is necessary.
- Must hold a Licensed CPA, JD/LLM, EA, or another credential from the company's approved list. Candidates without one of these designations have one year from their date of hire to obtain one.
- Proficiency in the taxation of corporations, consolidated entities, partnerships, and other flow-through entities is essential.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate complex financial information are required.
Additional Qualifications for Senior Manager:
- Minimum of eight years of recent experience as a tax senior manager in a public accounting firm supporting alternative investments, such as investment partnerships and/or mutual fund tax experience.
- Solid skills in reviewing 1120 RIC, 1065 tax returns, including Schedule K-1, and experience managing multiple client engagements and client service teams.
Salary Information:
KPMG complies with all local and state regulations regarding displaying salary ranges. The salary ranges for California are provided as an example: $135,700 - $273,400. The offered salary is determined based on relevant factors, such as the applicant's skills, job responsibilities, prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and market considerations.
