Job Title: Deputy Prosecuting Attorney

Job Responsibilities:
The Deputy Prosecuting Attorney operates under the supervision of the Elected Prosecuting Attorney. The primary responsibilities involve managing a criminal case load and handling all aspects related to criminal prosecution. This includes court preparation, making charging decisions, conducting legal research, and drafting legal documents. Specific duties include:

- Receiving and evaluating criminal complaints from citizens within the judicial district for potential prosecution.
- Preparing complaint affidavits for filing in misdemeanor prosecutions.
- Managing a misdemeanor case load, which involves trial and witness preparation, filing appropriate motions and responses, and conducting trials and appeals for misdemeanor cases.
- Managing a felony case load, including trial and witness preparation, filing appropriate motions and responses, and trying felony Circuit Court cases within the Judicial District.
- Reviewing case files submitted by law enforcement and other investigatory agencies to recommend suitable criminal charges.
- Drafting briefs, motions, and other supporting legal documents for criminal cases within the Judicial District.
- Representing the State of Arkansas in legal proceedings within the Judicial District.
- Performing other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Information:
The position requires a Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school. Additionally, candidates must be licensed to practice law in Arkansas and admitted to the Arkansas State Bar.

Salary Information:
The anticipated starting salary for the Deputy Prosecuting Attorney position is $85,.
