Job Title: Legal Analyst, Investments
Job Responsibilities:
- The Legal Analyst, Investments is responsible for supporting all in-house legal work within the Investments business unit of the organization. This includes working with various entities such as the organization's Investment Services, a registered investment adviser and mutual fund family.
- The Analyst coordinates with different functions within the Investments business unit, including Portfolio Management, Investment Services, and Fund Ops, to manage requests for contract or other legal document reviews.
- The role involves performing initial reviews of service requests and responding to inquiries, escalating them as needed.
- The Analyst assists with the initial review of all contracts related to the Investments business unit and performs legal research and analysis as directed.
- The position requires coordinating and tracking deliverables from outside counsel and consultants, maintaining project status information, and monitoring the status of deliverables.
- The Analyst assists with the implementation of web-based solution platforms.
Education and Experience Information:
- A Bachelor’s Degree is required for this position.
- A Juris Doctor (.) is preferred.
- Preferred experience includes working as a paralegal or analyst in an in-house legal department or law firm, or in a contracts-management, compliance, or risk-management role.
- A basic understanding of and strong interest in the investment management industry, along with knowledge of the laws and regulations applicable to investment advisers and funds, is preferred.

- The candidate should possess well-developed interpersonal skills and excellent communication skills, both oral and written, to interpret questions and assist others unfamiliar with complex legal terminology or issues.
- The ability to exercise independent judgment and initiate appropriate action to resolve issues with the appropriate degree of supervision is essential.
- The candidate should have the ability to give clear, concise directions, instructions, and guidance to others.
- Proficiency in performing legal research using LexisNexis or other tools is required.
- The ability to effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders and to assess and manage multiple priorities is crucial.
- The candidate should have command over a variety of software applications to accomplish work tasks and the ability to implement efficient systems for organizing work.
- The ability to work effectively as a team member with every level of staff and outside counsel, including timely and effective collaboration and responsiveness, is necessary.
- The candidate should actively contribute to departmental goals for process maturity and increased efficiencies.
- Agility and a positive attitude towards learning and applying new knowledge and skills are important.
- Proficient skills in MS Office and appropriate system applications are required.
- Complete confidentiality regarding business and personnel matters is mandatory.
