A law firm is seeking a skilled Patent Agent specializing in Biological Sciences to join its team. This position will involve drafting and prosecuting patent applications, conducting patent validity, non-infringement, and freedom-to-operate analyses. Duties:

  • Draft and prosecute patent applications in the biological sciences sector
  • Conduct patent validity, non-infringement, and freedom-to-operate analyses
  • Participate in IP due diligence for life sciences companies
  • Handle patent litigation and post-grant proceedings, including IPR, PGR, and interferences
  • Advise clients on IP matters in emerging life sciences technologies such as gene editing and molecular diagnostics
  • Collaborate with clients and colleagues to manage and develop IP portfolios

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of substantive patent experience; 3-5 years of experience preferred
  • Advanced degree (. preferred, or . with industry experience) in Biological Sciences (., Biology, Molecular Biology, Cellular Biology, Biochemistry, Genetics, Immunology, Virology)
  • Registered to practice before the . Patent and Trademark Office
  • Strong academic credentials and professional background
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to manage significant responsibilities and handle complex IP matters
