Job Title: Claim Director
Job Responsibilities:
The Claim Director is tasked with investigating, evaluating, and resolving Private Company Directors & Officers claims. This role requires providing outstanding customer service and involves collaboration with insured parties, brokers, and counsel during the adjustment of Professional Liability Claims. Key responsibilities include:
- Identifying and evaluating coverage issues, and preparing comprehensive coverage letters and analysis.
- Conducting, coordinating, and directing investigations into loss facts and the extent of third-party damages.
- Directing and closely monitoring assignments to experts and defense counsel.
- Evaluating information on coverage, liability, and damages to determine the extent of exposure to the insured and the company.
- Setting reserves within authority or making claim recommendations concerning reserve changes to a supervisor.
- Participating in virtual settlement conferences and mediations, with occasional travel as necessary.
Education and Experience Information:
The position requires 5-10 years of claims handling or relevant legal/insurance industry experience. A college degree or equivalent business experience is necessary. While experience with Professional Liability or other Financial Lines claims is preferred, it is not required. A law degree is also preferred but not mandatory. Additionally, if the candidate does not already possess one, they will be required to obtain an applicable resident or designated home state adjuster's license and possibly additional state licensure.

Candidates should demonstrate the ability to work independently and multi-task effectively. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential, along with the ability to deal with customers professionally. The role requires excellent negotiation skills, high organization, and responsiveness. The ability to work effectively in a team environment, whether virtual or in-person, is also important.
