Job Overview:

A respected regional law firm is seeking a skilled Associate Attorney to join its General Liability Practice Group in Long Island, NY. This role is designed for a mid-level litigator with 5–7 years of experience in handling a range of general liability matters. The ideal candidate will possess strong litigation skills, a proactive approach to case management, and the ability to deliver high-quality legal work in a collaborative office environment.

Location:

• Long Island, New York

Duties:

• Handle general liability cases including personal injury, premises liability, and property damage claims

• Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, and memoranda

• Take and defend depositions

• Appear at court conferences, hearings, and trials

• Manage discovery processes, including document review and witness preparation

• Maintain communication with clients, insurance carriers, and opposing counsel

• Work collaboratively with other attorneys and support staff on case strategy and resolution

Requirements:

• 5–7 years of experience handling general liability litigation

• Proven ability to manage litigation independently and effectively

• Courtroom and deposition experience required

• Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills

• Admission to practice law in New York (required)

Education:

• Juris Doctor (.) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Active member in good standing with the New York State Bar

Skills:

• Excellent legal writing and research abilities

• Strong oral advocacy and negotiation skills
