As an Attorney II, you will provide legal counsel and representation to various City departments and officials. This may include the City Auditor, Economic Development, Finance & Budget, Information Technology, Neighborhood & Family Services, Parks, Recreation & Libraries, and Public Works. Your responsibilities will include initiating, negotiating, and drafting legal agreements, advising on legal questions and procedures, and defending and responding to claims against the City. You will also have the opportunity to represent the City in state and federal courts, attend meetings of City Council and other boards and commissions, and provide legal advice and interpretation.

To be considered for this position, you must have a Juris Doctorate from an ABA-accredited law school and at least six years of experience in the practice of law. A license to practice law in Arizona and membership in good standing with the State Bar of Arizona are also required. Experience in municipal or public law is preferred.

Essential Functions:
