Job Overview

A law firm seeks a mid-level Associate Attorney to join its Real Estate team in New York. The firm offers a comprehensive practice in Real Estate, Energy, Environmental, and Land Use, providing a wide range of experience and expertise. The ideal candidate will have significant training in medium to large loan lender-side mortgage financing transactions.

Duties

Draft first set of loan documents and negotiate ancillary documents.
Review and analyze title commitments, surveys, opinion letters, leases, and zoning reports.
Identify and resolve issues impacting lenders during the diligence phase.
Conduct weekly status calls and manage junior associates and paralegals.
Communicate effectively with clients and opposing counsel.

Requirements

4-5 years of experience in real estate finance transactions.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong academic credentials from a top-tier law school.
Admitted to and a member in good standing of the New York bar.

Education

Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.

Certifications

Admitted to the New York State Bar.

Skills

Ability to manage small teams with presence and composure.
Experience with construction loans, mezzanine loans, and preferred equity investments is a plus.
