Experience and Qualifications:
- Technical degree strongly preferred, but not required
- 2L law student
- Hands-on training with meaningful experience

- Review at midpoint and conclusion of program
- Real-time feedback on substantive assignments
Cooley’s Intellectual Property Litigation Practice:
- Experienced in all types of IP cases, including patent, trademark, trade dress, trade secret, copyright, and false advertising disputes
- Skilled in all venues, including district and appellate courts, international arbitration forums, the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB), the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (TTAB), the International Trade Commission (ITC), and the US Supreme Court
- London-based IP team with experience in all commercial divisions of the English High Court, Court of Appeal, Supreme Court, and Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU)
- Majority of IP litigators have technical backgrounds in science and/or engineering
- Trial teams with first-chair trial lawyers, 50+ former judicial clerks, and litigation support professionals
- Goal: to swiftly get clients back to business while positioning them for long-term success
- Trusted by industry leaders and high-growth companies
- Cases often involve key products, technologies, and brands fundamental to clients’ businesses
Summer Associate Program:
- 10-week program
- Minimum 8-week commitment

- Compensation for 2025 US summer associate program: $225,000 annualized, prorated for number of weeks worked
- Eligible for class year credit if complete eligible clerkship
- Clerkship bonus of $50,000 for one-year clerkship and $75,000 for two-year clerkship or two one-year clerkships
- No class year credit for JD/MBA graduates
- Eligible for $25,000 bonus if complete combined Juris Doctor and Master of Business Administration degree and join firm immediately after program.
