Job Overview: A reputable law firm is currently seeking an experienced and dedicated Criminal Defense Attorney to join their team in the Tampa, FL area. The position offers the flexibility to work remotely while handling criminal defense cases and providing legal representation to clients. This role requires strong legal expertise, particularly in criminal law, with an emphasis on developing tailored legal strategies for each case.

Duties:

• Oversee all phases of criminal defense proceedings, from initial consultation to trial
• Handle discovery processes and participate in motion practice
• Prepare for and attend depositions
• Represent clients in court during pre-trials, motion hearings, and trials
• Develop and execute case-specific legal strategies to effectively advocate for clients
• Maintain a manageable caseload while ensuring high-quality legal work
• Communicate effectively with clients, providing regular updates and clear advice

Requirements:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in criminal law
• Florida Bar license is required
• Strong understanding of the Florida Rules of Criminal Procedure
• Criminal trial experience is essential
• Prior experience as a prosecutor or public defender is preferred but not mandatory
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work closely with clients
• Proven ability to manage a full caseload and meet deadlines

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Active membership in the Florida Bar

Skills:

• Strong criminal law knowledge
