Duties

General Work:

  • Provide legal advice to clients to achieve their estate planning goals.
  • Manage multiple legal matters independently or collaboratively with a team.
  • Assign tasks to associates and support staff for efficient case management.
  • Prepare case theories, memorandums, and reports for senior management.
  • Conduct due diligence in matters related to contracts and agreements.

Client Management:

  • Consult with leadership on complex client matters.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships through effective communication.
  • Understand clients’ businesses, economic drivers, and specific requirements to provide tailored advice.

Business Development:

  • Participate in marketing initiatives and contribute to business development efforts.
  • Network and prospect for new clients through outreach, writing, and speaking engagements.
  • Engage in corporate social responsibility, pro bono work, and other firm activities to enhance the firm’s culture.
  • Mentor associates and legal assistants to strengthen their professional skills.

Requirements

  • Six (6) to twelve (12) years of experience in estate planning and trust administration.
  • Demonstrated expertise in drafting various types of trusts for both taxable and nontaxable estates.
  • Active membership in good standing with the California State Bar.
  • Proven ability to manage complex client matters with professionalism and attention to detail.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (.) from an accredited law school.
  • . in Taxation preferred but not required.

Certifications

  • Active California State Bar license.
