Job Overview:
A law firm seeks a highly motivated and skilled mid-level attorney with at least one year of experience in litigation to join its growing team. The ideal candidate will be focused on defending medical malpractice cases and will work alongside a team of experienced trial attorneys. Duties:

  • Assist senior attorneys in handling the defense of medical malpractice cases from inception to trial.
  • Draft, review, and respond to discovery requests and demands.
  • Appear in court for conferences and oral arguments on motions.
  • Conduct depositions, including preparing and questioning witnesses.
  • Meet with expert witnesses to discuss case details and provide guidance.
  • Provide legal counsel to clients, keeping them informed of case developments.
  • Draft and file motions on various legal and medical issues pertinent to each case.
  • Collaborate with the legal team to ensure efficient case management and client communication.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 1 year of relevant litigation experience, preferably in medical malpractice defense.
  • Strong legal research and writing skills.
  • Ability to handle a range of legal tasks, including drafting motions and participating in court proceedings.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active Bar License in good standing.

Skills:

  • Proven ability to manage complex litigation cases.
  • Proficiency in legal research and drafting legal documents.
  • Strong negotiation and advocacy skills.
  • Familiarity with medical and legal terminology related to medical malpractice.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a client-focused approach.
