Graduate Recruit Program
The candidate should be student enrolled in, or graduating with an appropriate advanced degree from, accredited graduate institutions, and (2) Library of Congress staff who already possess a graduate degree. While specific education or degree requirements may be required in some cases, the general education requirements for all Graduate Recruit positions are outlined below. Some Graduate Recruit positions carry promotion potential to higher grade levels. GS-07 Grade Level: One full year of appropriate graduate education, OR 1 year of specialized experience at the GS-05 grade level in the federal service or at a comparable level of difficulty outside the federal service. GS-09 Grade Level: Two full years of progressively higher appropriate graduate education leading to a master's degree, OR master’s or equivalent graduate degree, OR 1 year of specialized experience at the GS-07 grade level in the federal service or at a comparable level of difficulty outside the federal service. GS-11 Grade Level: Three full years of progressively higher appropriate graduate education leading to a ., OR a . or equivalent doctoral degree, OR a . or equivalent law degree, OR 1 year of specialized experience at the GS-09 grade level in the federal service or at a comparable level of difficulty outside the federal service.
