A prestigious law firm, specializing in intellectual property law, is seeking an experienced Patent Attorney or Agent with a chemistry background. The successful candidate will work closely with clients, drafting and prosecuting patent applications globally. Duties:
- Draft, file, and prosecute patent applications across a variety of chemistry-related fields, including organic chemistry, inorganic chemistry, chemical engineering, and materials science.
- Manage global patent portfolios for clients, ensuring accurate and timely submissions.
- Work closely with clients to provide strategic advice and counsel on patent-related matters.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop patent strategies that align with client business goals.
- Represent clients in patent disputes and litigation, where applicable.
- Provide technical expertise and legal analysis in patent matters to both clients and internal teams.
- Maintain strong client relationships and deliver high-quality client service.
Requirements:
- A degree in chemistry, preferably a . or Master’s.
- 2+ years of experience in patent law, with a focus on chemistry, is preferred.
- . Patent and Trademark Office registration (attorney or agent) is required.
- Fluency in Korean is required to communicate with Korean-speaking clients.
- Proven experience in global patent prosecution and drafting.
- Strong technical background, with a specialization in organic chemistry being a plus.
Education:
- A bachelor's degree in Chemistry is required; a Master’s or . in Chemistry is highly preferred.
Certifications:
- . Patent and Trademark Office registration as a Patent Attorney or Agent is mandatory.
