Job Overview
A prestigious law firm located in New York City, NY is seeking a talented and driven Labor and Employment Associate Attorney to join their dynamic team. This position offers the opportunity to support a national practice, with a focus on employment counseling and litigation. The ideal candidate will have experience in restrictive covenants, and traditional labor law, and be committed to contributing to collaborative efforts across the firm’s offices. Strong writing abilities, a solid academic background, and a passion for practicing labor and employment law are essential.

Duties

• Provide legal advice on labor and employment issues, including counseling on compliance with federal and state regulations.
• Represent clients in employment-related disputes, such as wrongful termination, discrimination, wage and hour claims, and other workplace-related litigation.
• Draft and review employment agreements, employee handbooks, and policies.
• Assist clients with restrictive covenant matters, including non-compete and non-solicitation agreements.
• Advise clients on labor relations, including union-related issues and collective bargaining agreements.
• Collaborate with colleagues across multiple offices on complex legal matters.
• Conduct legal research and prepare detailed memoranda and reports.
• Stay updated on developments in labor and employment law and contribute to the firm’s thought leadership.

Requirements

• 2-4 years of experience in labor and employment law, with a focus on litigation and counseling.
• Admission to the New York State Bar (required).
• Admission to the New Jersey State Bar is a plus.
• Strong academic credentials and excellent legal writing skills.
• Ability to handle complex legal matters with minimal supervision.
• Proven track record of effectively managing client relationships and collaborating with a team.
• Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to providing high-quality legal services.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Must be admitted to practice law in New York (required).
• Admission to the New Jersey State Bar is strongly preferred.
