A law firm in Norristown is seeking a Municipal Associate Attorney with 4-5 years of experience in managing all aspects of municipal law. The candidate will provide legal advice, draft legal documents, conduct research, and advocate for municipal clients on various issues including land use, zoning, and public contracts.

Job Duties:

  • Provide legal advice and representation to municipal clients on a wide range of issues, including land use, zoning, public contracts, and municipal governance.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, ordinances, resolutions, and other legal documents for municipalities.
  • Provide legal guidance on laws regulating public bodies, such as the Right-to-Know Law, Sunshine Act, Ethics Act, and Municipalities Planning Code.
  • Conduct legal research and provide opinions on municipal law issues.
  • Assist municipal clients with drafting, reviewing, and enforcing codes and ordinances.
  • Advocate for municipal clients in zoning matters, including variances, special exceptions, conditional uses, and eminent domain proceedings.
  • Attend and participate in municipal board meetings, hearings, and other proceedings.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of municipal policies and procedures.
  • Manage and prioritize multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Utilize exceptional organizational, time management, and billing management skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Utilize computer skills, including proficiency in law practice management software and document management systems.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Pennsylvania State Bar and in good standing.
  • 4-5 years of relevant experience practicing municipal law.
  • Experience in Eastern PA counties including Montgomery, Bucks, Chester, Delaware, and Lehigh preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with municipal clients and colleagues.
