A law firm in Miami, FL is seeking a Maritime and/or Admiralty Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience in maritime and admiralty law, with strong industry contacts or a substantial book of business. The attorney must be capable of managing their own caseload, building and maintaining client relationships, and contributing to the firm's business development efforts. Membership in the Florida Bar and a strong professional network are required.

Duties:

  • Manage a caseload related to maritime and admiralty law, including vessel collisions, cargo disputes, and maritime contracts.
  • Build and maintain business relationships with clients, ensuring high levels of client satisfaction.
  • Represent clients in legal proceedings, negotiations, and settlements related to maritime and admiralty issues.
  • Provide legal advice and counsel to clients on maritime regulatory compliance, contract disputes, and liability issues.
  • Draft and review legal documents, including contracts, pleadings, and settlement agreements.
  • Conduct legal research and stay updated on maritime law developments and industry trends.
  • Develop and implement strategies to attract new clients and expand the firm's maritime and admiralty practice.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Member of the Florida Bar in good standing.
  • Proven ability to handle a caseload independently.
  • Strong industry contacts or a substantial book of business is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain business relationships with clients.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in maritime and/or admiralty law, with a strong background in handling relevant legal matters.

Skills:

  • Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Strong client relationship management and business development abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and manage a diverse caseload.
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency in legal research tools and case management software.
