A law firm is seeking a Trust and Estates Attorney for their Walden, NY, office. The Trust and Estates Attorney will provide comprehensive estate planning services to clients, including drafting wills, trusts, and powers of attorney. They will also assist with trust administration, probate proceedings, and estate litigation, while maintaining strong client relationships.

 

Duties:

  • Consult with clients to assess their estate planning needs and goals.
  • Draft wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and other legal documents tailored to each client's objectives and circumstances.
  • Assist trustees and beneficiaries with trust administration, asset management, and distribution.
  • Guide clients through the probate process, resolving disputes and addressing legal issues as needed.
  • Handle matters related to long-term care, Medicaid planning, and guardianship proceedings for older adults.
  • Represent clients in trust and estate litigation, including will contests and breach of fiduciary duty claims.
  • Conduct educational seminars and attend relevant events to engage with potential clients.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the State Bar in good standing.
  • 3-5 years of experience practicing Trust and Estate Planning.
  • Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to draft and review estate plans, ranging from simple to complex and advanced.
  • Attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Public speaking skills.
  • Preferably admitted to the NJ State Bar, in good standing, and accessible to NJ courts.
  • Bilingual in Spanish desired.

 

Education & Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the State Bar in good standing.

  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
