Summary Law Firm is looking to hire a Tax Preparer/Paralegal for their Estate Planning/Probate department. The successful candidate must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, and experience preparing individual (Form 1040) tax returns. The ideal candidate will also be familiar with trusts and estates; however, training is available. The salary range for this position is $45,000-$75,000. Functions: • Prepares individual and fiduciary income tax returns, gift tax returns, and estate tax returns. • Prepares probate/trust administration documents and accountings of trust assets. • Assists in the preparation, retention, and organization of all documents related to the administration of the trust or estate. • Communicates with clients in a professional and compassionate way. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: • Ability to prioritize tasks and anticipate client and attorney needs. • Proficiency with Word and Excel as well as software for preparing tax returns. • Proven analytical and mathematical skills. • Ability to independently organize large amounts of data, both hard copy and electronic, into an easily retrievable system. Requirements & Prerequisites: • Certified Public Accountant license preferred, but not required. • 4-year degree required. • Full-time: 8 . to 5 ., Monday through Friday.
