We are currently seeking a Patent Paralegal to join our Denver office and work with some of the most innovative patents from a Fortune 100 client base. Why work at Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck? - Collaborative and supportive work environment - Access to top legal minds, powerful policy knowledge, and best-in-class business acumen - Involvement in important cases, significant deals, and pivotal legislation - Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, 401k + match, profit sharing, and vacation/sick/personal time off - Overtime pay for hours worked above 40 per week - Hybrid work schedule option Overview of Responsibilities: - Coordinate all aspects of patent prosecution for US and foreign applications in a highly successful IP group - Prepare and file patent applications, responses to Office Actions, and amendments - E-file relevant documents with US Patent & Trademark Office - Maintain organized case files and utilize Firm resources, such as FoundationIP and iManage - Facilitate communication between attorneys and work directly with them to execute requests - Prepare and file Patent Cooperation Treaty applications and submissions - Proofread specifications and claims for US applications - Assist with monitoring and tracking US and foreign filing patent deadlines - Work closely with foreign patent agents, clients, and internal personnel - Complete special projects as requested, such as preparing strategic documentation of portfolios and interacting with clients to provide updates and information Qualifications: - Previous experience in filing and administering international patent/IP portfolios - Working knowledge of international patent rules and regulations - Proficiency in Adobe Professional, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook - Highly organized and detail-oriented - Technology savvy with an ability to learn and utilize proprietary software - Strong verbal and written communication skills - Excellent time-management and organizational skills - Ability to prioritize and follow through on assignments with limited supervision - Flexible and able to work independently under tight deadlines - Collaborative mindset and willingness to assist and support others - Knowledge of accounting and math skills preferred Compensation: Salary range of $60,000 - $80,000 (commensurate with experience) plus overtime pay for hours worked above 40 per week.
