A law firm in San Francisco is actively seeking an Immigration Trial Attorney with 5+ years of experience in removal defense, general immigration law, or litigation. The successful candidate will represent clients before Immigration Courts, federal courts, and government agencies. The role requires strong legal research and writing skills, effective communication, and the ability to manage a substantial caseload.

 

Duties:

  • Represent clients in Immigration Courts for removal defenses, immigration relief applications, criminal removal matters, and custody/bond hearings.
  • Represent clients in federal courts for immigration and civil-related litigation.
  • Appear for interviews or appointments before federal or state government agencies.
  • Communicate diligently with clients regarding legal matters, case status, and document collection.
  • Update case statuses diligently in the firm's case management and tracking systems.
  • Write legal articles or newsletters for the firm.
  • Attend business development meetings or deliver speeches in the community.
  • Follow the firm's compliance policies and procedures.
  • Communicate diligently with the team for internal inquiries.
  • Share the firm’s values, taking ownership and accountability for delivering the highest quality legal services.
  • Attend scheduled firm meetings and trainings.
  • Tech-savvy with proficiency in Office 365, Adobe Reader, and SharePoint.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented.
  • Capable of working well under pressure.
  • Understand the importance of case timelines and deadlines.

 

Requirements:

  • . or from an ABA-approved law school.
  • Active member in good standing of any State Bar in the United States.
  • Ability to manage 100+ case files.
  • 5+ years of experience in removal defense, general immigration law, or litigation.
  • Strong legal research and writing skills for preparing declarations, motions, and briefs.
  • Strong communication skills – on the phone, via email, and in person.
