Job Overview: A Fresno, CA-based law firm is seeking an experienced Workers' Compensation Attorney to join their team. This position involves handling all aspects of workers' compensation cases, from evaluating the merits to trial preparation, negotiations, and client counsel. The attorney will work in a fast-paced environment representing insurance carriers, third-party administrators, and self-insured employers.

Duties:

  • Manage a full caseload of workers' compensation cases, ranging in complexity.
  • Develop and implement strategic litigation plans for each case.
  • Draft and review various legal documents, including motions, briefs, and correspondence.
  • Conduct legal discovery and investigations.
  • Represent clients in court, including trials and hearings.
  • Attend various legal appearances and travel as needed.
  • Engage in negotiations and settlements with opposing counsel.
  • Maintain clear and consistent communication with clients and other parties involved.

Requirements:

  • At least 5 years of experience in workers' compensation defense.
  • Expertise in managing all phases of a case, from inception to trial.
  • Strong knowledge of workers' compensation laws and related regulations.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and litigation skills.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Licensed to practice law in California.

Certifications:

  • Active membership in the California State Bar.

Skills:

  • Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication.
  • Strong negotiation and client relationship management skills.
