A law firm is seeking an Environmental Associate Attorney for its Pittsburgh, PA office.

Job Overview:

The Environmental Associate Attorney will be responsible for providing legal support and counsel on a variety of environmental matters including regulatory compliance, litigation, investigations, enforcement actions, and transactional due diligence. The successful candidate will possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, demonstrate enthusiasm for their work, and exhibit the ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously.

Duties:

  • Provide legal counsel and representation to clients on environmental law matters.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis to support client cases and initiatives.
  • Draft legal documents including pleadings, motions, briefs, and contracts.
  • Participate in negotiations and settlement discussions.
  • Collaborate with other attorneys and legal professionals within the firm.

Requirements:

  • 2-8 years of environmental legal experience.
  • Preferably, experience in regulatory compliance, environmental litigation, government investigations, enforcement actions, and transactional due diligence.
  • Knowledge of Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, and/or RCRA matters and associated state regulations.
  • Licensed to practice law in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania or meet the requirements for admission in Pennsylvania and be in good standing.

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Pennsylvania State Bar or eligibility for admission.

Skills:

  • Strong legal research and analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively.
  • Proficiency in legal drafting and documentation.
