Law firm Robbins Schwartz is seeking a skilled attorney to join our Labor and Employment practice group as an Associate. Our firm specializes in providing practical and efficient representation to school districts, community colleges, municipalities, and other public entities. We are looking for a motivated individual with a Juris Doctor degree and admission to the Illinois State Bar, with at least 1 year of experience in the field.

As an Associate Attorney in our Labor & Employment practice group, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of complex legal matters, with minimal direction or supervision. Your responsibilities will include conducting legal research, drafting legal documents, and representing our clients in various legal proceedings. You will also have the opportunity to build relationships with clients based on trust, and find ethical solutions to legal matters.

Key Responsibilities:

- Conduct legal research and analyze complex issues
- Draft legal documents for submission to clients, courts, or arbitrators
- Counsel employers on all aspects of the employment relationship
- Represent clients in court, arbitration, and other judicial tribunals
- Negotiate and draft employment contracts during collective bargaining agreements
- Analyze and summarize complicated legal documents
- Perform discovery of electronically stored data and hard copies of information
- Negotiate with outside parties on contractual issues and legal disputes
- Anticipate and mitigate potential legal problems for clients and develop strategies to avoid litigation
- Perform due diligence in legal matters concerning contracts and agreements
- Build relationships with clients based on trust
- Adhere to local, state, and federal laws and ethical standards

Qualifications:

- Juris Doctor degree from an American Bar Association accredited law school
- Admission to the Illinois State Bar
- Minimum 1 year of experience in labor and employment law
