Job Overview:
A well-established law firm is seeking a highly skilled Associate Attorney with at least five years of progressively responsible experience in civil litigation. This role offers the opportunity to work within a diverse litigation practice, with the potential to handle a variety of cases. The ideal candidate will have trial experience and a demonstrated ability to manage cases from start to finish. This position also provides the flexibility of a hybrid work schedule and the chance to work closely with senior attorneys in a collegial and client-focused environment.

Location:

  • Portland, OR

Duties:

  • Assume primary responsibility for certain civil litigation matters.
  • Support senior attorneys in managing complex cases.
  • Handle all phases of litigation, including pre-trial motions, discovery, depositions, and trial preparation.
  • Represent clients in court and during settlement negotiations.
  • Provide legal advice and strategy to clients.
  • Maintain case files, including ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Collaborate with other team members to deliver high-quality legal work.
  • Focus on client service and develop innovative solutions to legal issues.

Requirements:

  • At least 5 years of experience in civil litigation, with trial experience considered a plus.
  • Ability to handle cases independently and collaborate with senior attorneys on more complex matters.
  • Active membership in the Oregon State Bar.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication, research, and writing skills.
  • Demonstrated initiative and innovative thinking in litigation.
  • Focus on providing high-level client service.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Must be a member in good standing with the Oregon State Bar.

Skills:

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong legal research and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage cases independently.
  • Experience with trial preparation and courtroom representation.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
