Senior Paralegal - Litigation- Hybrid: Exciting Full-Time Opportunity with Cigna Legal and Corporate Affairs Job Requisition ID: 24002013 Location: Philadelphia, PA or Bloomfield, CT (Hybrid work arrangement) Overview: The Senior Paralegal - Litigation will join the Legal Ops & Shared Services team within Cigna’s Legal and Corporate Affairs department. This role will primarily support the litigation team in all areas related to corporate health care litigation. The Senior Paralegal will work closely with internal counsel, external counsel, and cross-functional business partners to manage and respond to lawsuits, subpoenas, and other legal matters. Key Responsibilities: - Lead resolution of complex and multi-faceted small claims complaints and lower risk healthcare related lawsuits - Respond to third-party subpoenas in collaboration with external counsel - Organize, track, and manage document processing, review, and production for litigation cases - Serve as a primary liaison between in-house legal counsel, cross-functional business partners, and external third parties for litigation support and discovery - Partner with internal counsel to define document and data collection scope - Distribute legal hold notices to custodians and track follow-ups - Assist with special projects and additional responsibilities as assigned Qualifications: - Bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline or 5-8 years of experience as a litigation paralegal - Certification in paralegal studies and/or e-discovery practice preferred - Prior experience supporting an in-house Legal department - Familiarity with eDiscovery and data collection processes - Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications - Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills - Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple tasks - Team-oriented and able to work with confidential information - Willing to work in a hybrid work arrangement, with 1/2 work weeks in the office - Must be located within a 50-mile radius of a Cigna office, preferably in St. Louis, MO; Philadelphia, PA; or Bloomfield, CT Working at Cigna: At Cigna, we are committed to improving the health and vitality of our clients, customers, and patients.
