Job Description:

The Law Firm's Data Strategy, Security & Privacy team is seeking a tech-oriented associate with 2-4 years of legal experience in cybersecurity counseling and incident response. The associate will primarily focus on proactive and reactive data protection matters, including advising on data security incidents and related regulatory investigations, as well as compliance with contractual and legal obligations related to security. The associate may also assist with privacy issues as needed.

Responsibilities:

- Responding to data security incidents and regulatory investigations
- Advising clients on compliance with cybersecurity laws and regulations
- Preparing consumer disclosures and internal company policies
- Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating data and technology contracts
- Supporting M&A deal teams and other colleagues on cybersecurity matters
- Conducting legal research and staying updated on developments in cybersecurity and data privacy laws
- Collaborating with technical experts and distilling complex issues for non-technical team members
- Managing multiple projects simultaneously with attention to detail

Requirements:

- 2-4 years legal experience
- Foundational knowledge in federal, state, and foreign cybersecurity laws
- Motivation to learn and understand technology and forensic investigations
- Experience liaising with outside experts and vendors
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Commitment to ongoing development in cybersecurity and data privacy laws
- Admission to bar in state of practice

Location:

This position is open to candidates in Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Houston, New York City, or Washington DC, as long as they are barred in the jurisdiction and reside in a state where the firm has a . office location.
