Job Description:

- Legal guidance on product and feature development
- Reporting to Cash App’s Head of Product Counsel
- Partnering with product teams to develop new offerings while managing legal risk and ensuring regulatory compliance
- Immediate impact with expanding offerings
- Researching and mastering complex legal topics and communicating them to non-lawyers
- Drafting and negotiating commercial agreements and product policies
- Working with other support teams to provide seamless support to partners
- Cultivating creative ideas and insights into how legal frameworks can support new product developments and customer experiences

Qualifications:

- 5+ years of combined, relevant experience in law firms, governmental agencies, or in-house legal departments
- Excellent commercial negotiation and drafting skills
- Fluency translating legal advice into applicable guidance for creative products and collaborators
- Sound, practical business judgment and creativity in solving problems
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree and active membership in at least one state bar
- Familiarity with launching products and advising on legal and regulatory aspects in the technology space (preferred)
- Experience in buy now pay later or lending products in a FinTech environment (preferred)
