Limited-Service Deputy State's Attorney Positions Available in Multiple Vermont Counties
The Department of State’s Attorneys and Sheriffs is currently hiring Limited-Service Deputy State's Attorneys in four counties: Bennington, Franklin, Lamoille, and Windham. These positions offer a unique opportunity for attorneys interested in criminal justice work and trial experience, as well as the potential for long-term employment with the State of Vermont. Candidates must have a . degree and be admitted to the Vermont Bar. Those who have read law in Vermont and been admitted to the bar are also eligible to apply. Courtroom and jury trial experience is preferred but not required. The Limited-Service Deputy State's Attorney will represent the State's Attorney's Office in prosecuting criminal and certain civil offenses within the county. They will also be expected to effectively manage their caseload, work collaboratively with coworkers and other partners in the justice system, and pursue best practices and innovative approaches to achieve positive outcomes. The position may also involve working outside of the normal schedule and requires private means of transportation.
