The Senior Litigation Counsel at FINRA is responsible for representing the organization in nationwide non-disciplinary and disciplinary proceedings, as well as briefing and arguing appeals before the National Adjudicatory Council. This position requires a law degree and admission to the bar, as well as a minimum of 10 years of litigation experience and first-chair trial experience. The Senior Litigation Counsel must possess excellent communication skills and a comprehensive knowledge of trial techniques, federal securities laws, and other regulations related to the securities industry. The role also involves working on special projects and providing guidance and advice to other departments within FINRA.

Key Responsibilities:

- Represent FINRA in complex disciplinary and non-disciplinary proceedings
- Brief and argue appeals before the National Adjudicatory Council
- Provide guidance and advice to other departments on issues related to statutory disqualification and membership applications
- Draft complaints and other legal documents
- Oversee pre-hearing tasks and ensure team members are adequately prepared
- Conduct litigation consults and counsel staff on potential litigation concerns
- Conduct legal research and prepare advocacy documents
- Negotiate settlements with respondents and their attorneys
- Collaborate with other departments within FINRA as needed

Education and Experience Requirements:

- Law degree and admission to the bar
- Minimum of 10 years of litigation experience
- First-chair trial experience
- Excellent communication skills
- Comprehensive knowledge of trial techniques, federal securities laws, and other regulations related to the securities industry

Work Conditions:

- Work outside of business hours may be required
- Overnight travel may be required
