A law firm in Harrisburg is seeking an experienced Criminal Law Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in criminal defense and preferably bring a book of business. This position requires the ability to manage a busy caseload, possess excellent courtroom skills, and handle cases across South Central, Pennsylvania. Firm management handles administrative tasks, allowing attorneys to focus solely on practicing law.

 

Duties:

  • Represent clients in criminal defense cases, including misdemeanors and felonies.
  • Provide legal counsel and representation during all stages of the criminal justice process.
  • Conduct legal research, analyze case law, and prepare legal documents such as motions, briefs, and appeals.
  • Attend court hearings, trials, and negotiations on behalf of clients.
  • Investigate cases, interview witnesses, and gather evidence to build a strong defense.
  • Collaborate with investigators, experts, and other legal professionals as needed.
  • Maintain client confidentiality and uphold ethical standards of the legal profession.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active membership in good standing with the Pennsylvania State Bar.
  • 5+ years of experience practicing criminal law, with a focus on criminal defense.
  • Proven track record of success in defending clients in various criminal cases.
  • Strong knowledge of criminal law statutes, procedures, and courtroom practices.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and advocacy skills.
  • Ability to manage a high-volume caseload effectively and efficiently.
  • Willingness to travel within South Central Pennsylvania for case representation.

 

Education:

Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.

 

Certifications:

Active membership in good standing with the Pennsylvania State Bar.
