Job Overview

A premier law firm in Chicago, IL, is seeking an experienced attorney to join its Tax Credit Finance practice. This role involves leading and supporting complex transactions related to historic and renewable energy tax credits. Duties

  • Oversee and manage all aspects of tax credit transactions, including structuring, negotiation, and execution.
  • Review and analyze financial projections to ensure compliance and alignment with client goals.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate various legal documents, including tax equity agreements, loan documents, and legal opinions.
  • Conduct thorough due diligence to identify and mitigate potential risks.
  • Act as a primary or supporting counsel during client consultations and project management.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure the successful completion of transactions.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 7+ years of experience in a law firm environment specializing in historic and renewable energy tax credits.
  • Proven ability to independently manage complex transactions and provide strategic legal advice.
  • Strong track record of drafting and negotiating legal and financial documents.
  • Demonstrated project management and problem-solving skills in high-pressure scenarios.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (.) from an accredited, nationally recognized law school.

Certifications

  • Admission to the Bar in Illinois or eligibility for prompt admission.

Skills

  • In-depth knowledge of tax credit finance, including historic and renewable energy tax credits.
