Job Title: Junior to Senior-Level Litigation Associate Attorney

Job Overview:
A well-established law firm in Chicago, IL is looking for junior, mid-level, and senior litigation associates (1-6 years of experience) to join their dynamic litigation team. Candidates with experience in litigation, including discovery, brief writing, and pre-trial preparation, are preferred. An interest or experience in cybersecurity and data privacy law is a plus.

Duties:

  • Manage complex commercial litigation matters from inception through trial.
  • Handle discovery, brief writing, and pre-trial preparations.
  • Draft legal documents, including motions, pleadings, and discovery responses.
  • Represent clients in depositions, hearings, and trials.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and assist in the strategic planning of litigation matters.
  • Participate in the development of case strategies and provide insightful recommendations to clients.
  • Stay updated with legal developments, particularly in the areas of commercial disputes, fraud, fiduciary duty, and other relevant practice areas.
  • Contribute to pro bono efforts by representing clients in need.

Requirements:

  • 1-6 years of litigation experience, including substantial exposure to commercial litigation.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to handle complex legal matters independently and with minimal supervision.
  • Familiarity with various practice areas, including contract disputes, non-compete litigation, merger-related disputes, and bankruptcy issues.
  • A proactive, detail-oriented approach to work.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Education:

  • . from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the Illinois Bar (or eligible to become admitted).

Skills:

  • Litigation experience with a focus on discovery, brief writing, and trial prep.
  • Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity and data privacy laws is a plus.
